Be Tho Orphanage Vietnam

Oliver Bonas UK supports Be Tho Orphanage with funds raised from the sale of a "Baby Grow" which is made in Vietnam at Albetta International. Some of these funds are being used to purchase new sewing machines for the skills programme, established at Be Tho by Sister Vinh for her older residents so that they may find employment when they leave the orphanage. Thanks to the generous donation from Oliver Bonas and with technical advice provided by Marco and Annabel (owners of Albetta), the students at Be Tho will soon be trading in their pedal driven singer sewing machines for more sophisticated, professional models. Training on these new machines will be provided by Albetta and volunteers from the Canadian community in Ho Chi Minh City.

Nursing school Haiti

Seventy five nursing students died in the quake when the school collapsed. The University of Montreal Nursing school and Cheneliere Book publishers (Montreal) have joined forces with Rose Charities to supply text and reference books for the 25 surviving nursing students so that they may complete their studies. In addition, a relationsip is being forged with the Nursing School at U of Montreal so that future Haitian/Canadian nursing graduates may travel to Port au Prince to work along side the Haitian graduates.
